Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport Birmingham, AL
The Terminal Modernization Project is the most significant modernization at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport in the history of the Birmingham Airport Authority. It will be state of the art, improving safety and efficiency at the airport and modernizing the appearance and amenities. A chief component of the new terminal design is a new Federal Inspection Station to facilitate direct international air traffic. The terminal design calls for a new concourse that will improve safety and make the traveler experience more efficient and manageable. Plans also call for passenger screening to be centralized and new baggage screening systems to be installed to improve accuracy and efficiency. Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) Multi-Purpose Facility
Since September 2009, Formation Methods (Fm), a locally-owned development and construction services company, has served as project liaison/project coordinator during the design and pre-construction phase of the BJCC’s planned multi-purpose facility.
Fm provides support to the BJCC during the 16-month design phase of this project. Herschell Hamilton is principal and managing partner and project liaison. Michael Carpenter, AIA, CMAA, Fm principal and company partner, leads the firm's coordination service for the project. Fm's scope of services includes liaison between the BJCC and local jurisdictions; coordinate procurement and delivery of civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, and other design and investigative services required to support the design team; establish a program delivery schedule and manage activities.

Glenbrook at Oxmoor Valley
Housing Authority of the Birmingham District (HABD), AL
This Hope VI Project, located on a 26-acre greenfield site in Oxmoor Valley, consists of a 300 unit mixed-income apartment community, developed in conjunction with Pennrose Properties and the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District (HABD).

The Townes Shopping Center and Condominium Development
English Village / Mountain Brook, AL
The retail component included redevelopment of 14,000 square feet of shops and the addition of 18,000 square feet of new shops and offices. Project located on limited site and required special care to ensure minimal disruptions to existing business operations during construction.
The condominium component included the development of a 30 unit mid-rise condominium in this historic village. Project included a 60-space parking deck below. Due to the historic nature of the neighborhood special care was required to develop the proper architectural solution. Every square inch of the site was used to insure financial performance.
